SCAM ALERT:

Warning: Tech support scams are fraudulent, unsolicited attempts to steal money, data, or remote access to devices. Scammers use scary pop-ups (often with fake, alarming audio) pretending to be Microsoft, warning of viruses or locked devices. Microsoft will never call you or send pop-ups with phone numbers.

How to Protect Yourself & Identify the Scam:

  • NEVER Call the Number: Legitimate Microsoft error messages never include a phone number.
  • Stop Scammer Tactics: If a pop-up appears, close your browser immediately
  • Never Grant Access: Never allow a stranger to remotely access your computer.
  • Avoid Payment: Scammers often ask for payment through unconventional methods like gift cards, or Bitcoin. Or they will have you withdraw funds from your account and send it somewhere else to "keep it safe".
  • Report it: Contact the bank so we can help keep your account secure. Scammers may tell you to not talk to the bank because of an investigation, or impersonate the FDIC, Federal Reserve or other authority.
  • Run Security Scan: Perform a full scan on your computer to remove any malicious software.
  • Change Passwords: Immediately change your computer and online banking passwords.
Hometown Community Bank

Bank History

Community Bank & Trust was founded by a group of individuals in Muscatine in 1980. These people reconized a need for an alternative banking organization founded on exceptional customer service. In 1983, an association was formed with Peoples National Bank in Columbus Junction. People's National Bank was formed on March 25, 1963 by like-minded individuals in the Colombus Junction area that saw a need to give their community another banking choice. The two banks operated under separate names for several years, then eventually merged to become one bank, Community Bank. Ownership of the bank was, and continues to be, part of a holding company organization known as C-B-G, Inc., which at the time, also owned a bank in Wilton, Iowa. Wilton Savings Bank was established in 1894 and is very proud to have served Wilton and its surrounding communities continuously through the Great Depression in the 1930s and now for over 120 years! It has been a place where banking is a family tradition passed down through generations and all of our locations strive to embody this ideal. We celebrate your successes and growing families and support you through loss and tough times. We want to be your family bank.

At the close of business on December 31, 2005, Community Bank and Wilton Savings Bank merged to become one under the Community Bank name. Then in 2008, Community Bank entered into an agreement to acquire another branch location in Wapello, Iowa. this location had previously operated as part of a big banking organization and had served the Wapello community for decades. The original building was relocated and a brand new bank was built in its place. In 2012, Community Bank officially changed its name to Community Bank & Trust Co. to promote the full line of trust products and services available. Most recently in 2015, Community Bank & Trust moved its main banking location in Muscatine from its original home at 615 Cedar Street, to a newly renovated building at 2609 2nd Avenue. Community Bank & Trust continues to operate today with five locations in these four small town communities. We pride ourselves on our long-standing commitment to great customer services and truly live our tag line:
